Petition For Option 4

I feel that 3000 plus students who chose Option 4 shouldn't get their reports marked in such a rubbish way, especially when the parents are doing all the work. 

Especially when we found out that a student, who was originally in Option 4, went back for just 5 days, and got their report marked. (But the report was everything the parent had done and submitted online. ) 

We called the school and school board about this matter (before knowing about the student who went back for 5 days) and they told us they can't grade those in Option 4. Perhaps, if they have even bothered to check what is submitted online, they would be able to do so. 

After we found out, we left more voice mails with the school board, but got no replies.

3000 plus students who chose Option 4 - that is equivalent to 7 public schools. 

And not all who chose Option 4 are immunocompromised. 

A lot of families who chose Option 4 are doing their part so as to not overburden the already severely understaffed schools. (Grade K to 3 kids in Vancouver are not required to wear masks.)

The school told us that they will write the report for our child and we will get it in a couple of weeks. But what about the other 3000 plus kids? What about their reports?

If this is "Just how the way things are.", would you want to help change it? 

Option 4 And Canada Sucks

 

You know, it's just a piece of paper report. But what we are fighting for, is to abolish the bigot mentality of the system here. 

I even told the Vice Principal actually what we need is a sincere apology from her and the form teacher, admit that they made mistakes (which we caught them red handed) and then find solutions together and move on.

 Of course, the Vice Principal dismissed me again. 

Can you imagine me raging at an eldery white caucasian woman yesterday on the phone yesterday? Ha, this is what living in Canada does to you.

We actually got the call from the Vice Principal yesterday at 4 pm, 'coz we complained to the school board. 

Dear People Of Planet Earth, please send me trusthworthy reporters if you know of any, here in Vancouver, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, New Zealand etc. 'coz we are already writing to the newspapers here.

Actually, people of power always get away scot free - just look at the government of Canada. 

Even educational sector are just mirroring their despicable ways. 

Sometimes, I will think of all the forefathers of Canada turning in their graves. This is whatever the heck their country is now.

 Do you celebrate the lunar new year too? 

In Singapore, we called it cny, and when we visit friends and families, we will bring even number of mandarin oranges to exchange with mainly the head of the family and say auspicious sayings to one another. 

In Singapore, young kids will also be given money in red packages called "red packets" - we called them "ang baos" (known as "red pockets" here in North America)

*why is it called "red pockets" here? 🤔 They are in packets.

Pastel Colours Hanbok

 Decided to draw and coloured us in traditional Korean outfits. 

We were supposed to visit Korea (our 2nd time, and C's 1st) last year in 2020, but had to cancel and postphone our trip 'coz of the pandemic. 

We were looking to rent Hanboks when we were there and taking lots of pictures wearing them :) 

At least, I can draw us out! 

We will definitely opt for pastel colours outfits! 

Looking forward to being able to go overseas for holidays again! 😃😃😃
